Median pathway analysis by patient demographics, stage at diagnosis, route to diagnosis, and geography
The Cancer Alliance Data Evidence and Analysis Service (CADEAS) have calculated the median pathway length of fifteen cancers for patients diagnosed in 2013-2018. The aim is to understand the variation in median days from referral to first treatment for each Cancer Alliance.
Using this analysis and other pathways work, Cancer Alliances can:
- Investigate reasons for the variations observed, facilitate discussion to implement local interventions to reduce variation, and address health inequalities.
- Identify and share best practice for faster diagnosis, treatment, and improving patient experience.
